Neutral buoyancy is the divers most important skill, yet it is the one most likely to be over looked. Divers like to be neutrally buoyant but it can be a tricky thing to achieve. Divers who have mastered the highest performance levels in buoyancy stand apart. You have seen them underwater. The Instructors and Divemasters during your training gliding effortlessly, using less air and ascending, descending or just hover, almost as if they are not even thinking about it. They interact gently with aquatic life and have a minimal affect on their surroundings.
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Speciality, or PPB for short, refines the basic skills you learned during your initial training and elevates them to the next level.

How do I get started?
As with all of the diving education programmes at Plan2Dive you start with a deposit of £50. There are no manuals so you don’t have to worry about any home study.

What will I do?
During your programme you will cover the following:
How to trim your equipment and weighting so you’re perfectly balanced in the water
Practice determining weighting so you’re not too light nor too heavy by even a slight degree
How to streamline to save air and move smoothly through the water
How to hover effortlessly in both a vertical position and a horizontal position
You will have one and a half days of intense buoyancy training to complete. In our fully equipped multi-media classrooms you will learn about proper weighting techniques and also how to streamline yourself and your equipment for diving.
You will also complete a buoyancy clinic in our on site training pool.
You will put into practice what you learn in a combination of skills during two open water training dives.
Time
How long will it take?
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Speciality takes place over one weekend. Starting on the Friday evening you will complete the theory sections from the PADI Peak Performance Speciality as well as the buoyancy clinic.
The Saturday will cover all the practical sessions during two open water training dives.
You can arrange with your instructor to continue to gain experience on the Sunday by using the equipment from the programme to do some more diving before handing it back in on the Sunday afternoon. The extra days equipment hire is included in the cost of your programme.
Requirements
What will I need?
The PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is the prerequisite for the PADI Drysuit Diver Speciality.
All standard scuba equipment requirements are included in the price.
The minimum age of enrolment on this programme is 10yrs.
