First Winter Dive this Year

On Sunday, I did my first winter dive this year. We went to Weggis at the Vierwaldstättersee and did two dives. The temperature was five degrees, but with my dry suit and my super warm undersuit, I was fine. However, after diving in Thailand, the temperature was quite a shock!

The first dive was to 23 metres with a sandy bottom. The visibility was quite good for a swiss lake, about 5-7 metres. On the second dive, we were diving along a wall of rocks at a maximum depth of about 32 metres. There were some fantastic rock formations with impressive boulders. However, there were hardly any fish, but at the end of the dive we found a huge pike which was lovely.

I am definitely looking forward to do more diving in Switzerland!

LEGEND LX TWILIGHT

LEGEND LX TWILIGHT
A top-of–the line fully adjustable regulator that joins the existing Legend LX. The Twilight Legend LX includes a smaller Comfo-Bite™ mouthpiece and a lighter second stage to reduce jaw fatigue, the revolutionary Master Breathing System (MBS) for simple breathing comfort control, and its own regulator bag for safe and stylish storage.Product Weight Calculator
This product qualifies for Free Parts for Life

First Stage

  • Auto-Closure Device (ACD) keeps corrosive water out of the first stage inlet by automatically closing as the Legend is removed from the cylinder valve
o This prevents internal lubrication from washing away
o Safer for elevated percentages of oxygen
  • Unique over-balanced, diaphragm design results in superior performance at depth
  • 2 HP ports and 4 MP ports are angled for optimum hose routing
  • An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber thus preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and contamination out
  • Available in your choice of yoke or DIN connectors
  • Compatible with up to 40% O2 right out of the box

Second Stage

  • The MBS is a new, simple and effective way to adjust the breathing performance of your Legend LX. The MBS controls two functions at one time. It controls the direction of air, which alters the venturi effect, as well as changes the opening effort. One control – two functions, it doesn’t get easier.
  • Pneumatically-balanced second stage results in smooth, easy breathing
  • The Comfo-bite mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw-fatigue
  • A heat exchanger (patented) which surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water
  • The ergonomic exhaust tee channels the exhaust bubbles out of your field of vision. The design also contributes to a reduction in exhalation effort
  • Attached to a 29” braided Aqua Flex hose. These hoses are lightweight and extremely pliable which eliminates any tugging on the mouthpiece

Twilight:

  • New Twilight stainless steel accent ring
  • Smaller Comfo-bite™ mouth piece designed for smaller mouths and a detachable silicone bridge which fits across the upper palate
  • All new twilight regulator bag for storage

Supreme Versions (for water colder than 50°F / 10°C)

  • In addition to the first stage environmental dry system and the second stage heat exchanger, which are found on all models and provide excellent freezing resistance, the Supreme Versions are:
  • Specially adjusted to resist freezing
  • Equipped with a lip shield on the second stage to keep lips warm

Diver rescued from shipping lane in English Channel
A diver has been rescued from the shipping lane in the middle of the English Channel after he was seen in the water shouting for help.

Dover Coastguard was alerted after he was spotted near the Sandettie South West Buoy, in the Dover Strait, by a passing ship at about 15:45 GMT.

An RAF rescue helicopter and two RNLI lifeboats were sent to the scene, while a warning was broadcast to vessels.

The diver was later reunited with a dive boat in the area.

Dover Coastguard watch manager, Sarah Bray, said it was not known how the diver had ended up in the shipping lane, but he was lucky to have been spotted and rescued quickly.

“The diver was diving solo and wearing the correct equipment for this time of year but we were unaware that a dive was taking place in our area.

“Divers are advised to make the coastguard aware of their plans at the start of a dive operation for their own safety,” she said.
