First Stage

Auto-Closure Device (ACD) keeps corrosive water out of the first stage inlet by automatically closing as the Legend is removed from the cylinder valve
o This prevents internal lubrication from washing away
o Safer for elevated percentages of oxygen
Unique over-balanced, diaphragm design results in superior performance at depth
2 HP ports and 4 MP ports are angled for optimum hose routing
An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber thus preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and contamination out

Second Stage

The MBS is a new, simple and effective way to adjust the breathing performance of your Legend LX. The MBS controls two functions at one time. It controls the direction of air, which alters the venturi effect, as well as changes the opening effort. One control – two functions, it doesn’t get easier.
Pneumatically-balanced second stage results in smooth, easy breathing
The Comfo-bite mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw-fatigue
A heat exchanger (patented) which surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water
The ergonomic exhaust tee channels the exhaust bubbles out of your field of vision. The design also contributes to a reduction in exhalation effort
Attached to a 29” braided Aqua Flex hose. These hoses are lightweight and extremely pliable which eliminates any tugging on the mouthpiece

Diver rescued from shipping lane in English Channel
A diver has been rescued from the shipping lane in the middle of the English Channel after he was seen in the water shouting for help.

Dover Coastguard was alerted after he was spotted near the Sandettie South West Buoy, in the Dover Strait, by a passing ship at about 15:45 GMT.

An RAF rescue helicopter and two RNLI lifeboats were sent to the scene, while a warning was broadcast to vessels.

The diver was later reunited with a dive boat in the area.

Dover Coastguard watch manager, Sarah Bray, said it was not known how the diver had ended up in the shipping lane, but he was lucky to have been spotted and rescued quickly.

“The diver was diving solo and wearing the correct equipment for this time of year but we were unaware that a dive was taking place in our area.

“Divers are advised to make the coastguard aware of their plans at the start of a dive operation for their own safety,” she said.

Moments after PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Kathleen Ng took a remarkable grouper image, she took a high-definition video (at 720p with stereo sound) of the shrimp’s cleaning station using a simple point-and-shoot camera. Ng went from taking a great grouper still image that can be seen in the First Quarter 2012 Undersea Journal, to capturing stunning HD video with the quick flick of a dial.

The Legend Continues…Aqua Lung’s New Legend Series

Slightly smaller and lighter, the new Legend regulators provide improved performance with a modified yoke knob for better drainage and a spring-loaded Auto Closure Device (ACD) that snaps shut automatically to prevent water from getting into the device.

Both the Legend LX and Legend LUX have a patented dual control system, rather than a knob and switch, to control the opening effort. The Master Breathing System (MBS) easily controls both the venturi and opening effort automatically and simultaneously, allowing for smoother, more natural breathing.
